What is steel framing system?

Steel Framing System is a fast structural system designated for the construction of panel and continuous walls, low-rise individually standing buildings and high separating walls.  It is an ideal bearing system for low-rise buildings and where construction speed is emphasized.

Steel structures are formed from a skeleton frame that consist of vertical columns, horizontal beams and so on made from steel materials, riveted, welded or bolted together, often in a rectilinear grid. Steel structures are typically used for medium and high-rise, industrial, warehouse and residential buildings.

Structural steel framing is a durable, reliable, cost-effective, sustainable option for low-rise, mid-rise and high-rise building projects and typically refers to building frame systems where the vertical and horizontal structural elements are formed by a system of structural steel beams and columns.

Structural metal stud framing refers to the construction of walls and planes using cold-formed steel components.  Lighter gauge metal studs are used in non-load bearing applications such as some interior walls, half-walls, and partitions. Framing techniques for metal studs are similar to those of wood construction.

How does steel frame construction work?

They are created by passing heated steel between large rollers, which deform it into the required shape, such as H, I, W, S and C shapes, angles, tubes, and so on. As steel softens at high temperatures, which can cause structural collapse, frames require some form of fire protection.
